Lakefront Biotherapeutics NV, formerly known as Galapagos NV, is a clinical-stage biotechnology company headquartered in Mechelen, Belgium. Lakefront aims to identify, acquire and develop investigational medicines for serious diseases in areas of high unmet need, to deliver meaningful patient impact and long-term shareholder value. Its clinical-stage portfolio is focused on immunology and inflammation and anchored by gamgertamig (OM336), a potential first-in-class and best-in-classBCMAxCD3 bispecific T-cell engager for autoimmune diseases. Its shares are listed on Euronext and Nasdaq under the ticker LKFT.
Yes. Lakefront Biotherapeutics NV was formerly known as Galapagos NV. Shareholders approved the new name on April 28, 2026, and it became effective on May 8, 2026. This was a name change of the existing legal entity, not the formation of a separate company. Earlier scientific publications, clinical-trial records and company announcements may still use the Galapagos brand name.
Lakefront Biotherapeutics’ pipeline is focused on immunology and inflammation. The clinical-stage portfolio is anchored by gamgertamig (OM336), a potential first-in-class and best-in-class BCMAxCD3 bispecific T-cell engager for autoimmune diseases that is being evaluated in two active global Phase 1b basket studies. The pipeline also includes three preclinical T-cell engager programs in autoimmune and inflammatory diseases that originated at Ouro Medicines.
Gamgertamig, also known as OM336, is potential first-in-class and best-in-classBCMAxCD3 bispecific T-cell engager. It targets B-cell maturation antigen (BCMA) and CD3 and is designed to direct T cells towards plasma cells and B cells that contribute to autoimmune disease. It is intended to enable rapid and deep depletion of these cells after a limited course of subcutaneous treatment. The goal is to reset the immune system in serious antibody-driven autoimmune diseases. Gamgertamig has not been approved by any regulatory authority, and its safety and effectiveness have not been established.
Gamgertamig is being evaluated in two active Phase 1b studies. NCT07083960 includes patients with autoimmune cytopenias such as immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) and autoimmune hemolytic anemia (AIHA). NCT07229144 includes patients with seropositive autoimmune diseases such as idiopathic inflammatory myositis, pemphigus vulgaris, pemphigus foliaceus and Sjögren’s disease. Lakefront expects additional proof-of-concept basket studies and registrational development to begin in 2027. The U.S. FDA has granted Fast Track and Orphan Drug designations for gamgertamig in AIHA and ITP, and Orphan Drug designation in pemphigus.
Gamgertamig is an investigational medicine and has not been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, the European Medicines Agency or any other regulatory authority.
Information about Lakefront-sponsored studies is available on the Lakefront Clinical Trials page, on ClinicalTrials.gov and on the European Union clinical-trials portal. Gamgertamig may be listed under its study name, OM336. Two study records:
Eligibility criteria, study locations and contacts are set out in each registry record and are determined by the participating study sites. Patients and caregivers should discuss clinical-trial participation with a treating physician.
GLPG3667 is an investigational oral medicine that selectively inhibits tyrosine kinase 2 (TYK2). It has been studied in dermatomyositis and systemic lupus erythematosus. GLPG3667 is an investigational medicine, and its safety and effectiveness for these uses have not been established In its August 10, 2026, business update, Lakefront Biotherapeutics reported completion of the GALARISSO and GALACELA Phase 2 studies and stated that it was evaluating strategic options for GLPG3667..
In January 2026, Lakefront Biotherapeutics announced it initiated a process to wind down its CAR-T cell therapy activities, and the CAR-T development programs are being discontinued. As described in the company’s August 10, 2026 business update, the HESPERIA study continues long-term safety monitoring of patients treated in the discontinued studies. This safety follow-up is separate from active development of those programs.
Gilead Sciences and Lakefront Biotherapeutics completed the acquisition of Ouro Medicines (“Ouro”) on June 4, 2026. Gilead acquired Ouro, while Lakefront acquired subsequently substantially all of Ouro’s team and operating assets, and the two companies concluded a collaboration and license agreement on gamgertamig. Lakefront is responsible for ongoing and future Phase 1 and Phase 2 studies. Gilead leads registrational and later-stage development, including studies intended to support regulatory approval, and holds commercialization rights outside Keymed’s territories. Gamgertamig was originally in-licensed from Keymed Biosciences, which owns the rights to develop and commercialize the program in Greater China. Lakefront is eligible for tiered royalties on Gilead’s net sales.
Lakefront has also in-licensed a preclinical portfolio of three additional autoimmune focused programs originally from Ouro. Following clinical proof of concept, Gilead has the right to opt-in for an upfront payment per program, after which profits would be shared 50/50.
Lakefront Biotherapeutics’ relationship with Gilead Sciences dates back to 2019, when the companies entered into a 10-year global research and development collaboration. Lakefront received at that time a $3.95 billion upfront payment and a $1.1 billion equity investment from Gilead while Gilead received an exclusive product license and option rights to develop and commercialize all existing and future programs in all countries outside Europe. As part of the deal, Gilead also got the right to nominate two candidates to the Board of Directors of Lakefront. That collaboration agreement allowed for closer scientific partnership between the companies. . Since then, the relationship has evolved through multiple strategic transactions and collaborations. Two executives from Gilead are on Lakefront’s Board of Directors. Today, Gilead remains a significant shareholder of Lakefront and a key strategic partner, including through the companies’ collaboration on gamgertamig and other autoimmune disease programs.
Lakefront Biotherapeutics’ near-term priority is to advance gamgertamig and its preclinical portfolio while maintaining a high bar for additional business development transactions. As of June 30, 2026, Lakefront reported €2.2395 billion in cash and financial investments and guided to a cash balance of €1.975 billion to €2.050 billion at year-end 2026. Lakefront forecasts retaining at least €1.6 billion after funding the current portfolio through the first potential approval of gamgertamig, leaving capital available for additional strategic transactions and other capital-allocation priorities.

The Executive Committee also includes Aaron Cox, Chief Financial Officer, and Fred Blakeslee, General Counsel. Gino Santini serves as Chair of the Board of Directors.
